Great work with the fabrication ;)
Where did you get your metal from?

I bought it from a company called Constant Engineering, and ordered it from their web site easy to do but probably paid a bit over the top, if you have more time i would recommend going to some local fabricators and asking if you can buy half a sheet.

You sir, have skill. :party0021:

I am betting your welding and fabrication is just getting better and better :character0036:

Naw, the more the better, it's interesting to watch the fabrication process. My welding needs much more practice, no where near as good as yours, so I ended up taking mine to Dubs and Classics to make the chassis solid.

Crikey thanks for the nice comments

That dam weather, had to work around the rain again today, mission was to weld in the jacking point, back cross member and outrigger.

All went ok and got a few pics, got carried away whilst i was pinned down in the van by rain, thought i would try and get a shot of me welding so set the camera up and then got my Dad to trip the shutter with a remote.

Borrowed it from a friend but certainly does what i want it to do! wire feed can be slightly suspect, but if you keep the gun lead in a nice arc it's ok, it welds smoothly and the controls are simple.

I also needed to replace my mates 009 distributor after we robbed it from his beetle so got this one from ebay. Actually its really annoying as i have a repo one but the electronic ignition was lose on the shaft, i don't think the tolerances are either specified or not adhered to anyway got one now so job done.

Managed to get a little bit done last weekend, started to make up a repair panel for the floor it took a while but it fitted nicely so would of been a quick job to weld in, if i hadn't run out of gas again! anyway it's made and ready to go in this weekend. quality of pics is poor as i forgot the camera so this is what i took on my phone, better than none.

Thought i best get some work done so set about making a tray up to repair the floor. i was looking to make a section that i could just drop in rather than welding all the plates in separately, i wont post every stage but i have included a couple of pics creating a joggle.
