Last year on our trip to Norway we both had pain in our back's from the original seats  Next month where going on a trip to Italy and with a pregnant wife 8) I was looking for some better seats  I bought two 70ies Recaro's. Where going to test them in our holiday and when the are fine I will get them reupholstered in original brown skai/leather.

Hello Mycha, Fantastic Bus! Could you tell me what you used for the brake servo vacuum pipe, both the metal and the plastic ones as I am struggling to find something suitable for my set-up here in England. I am thinking maybe something hydraulic? I hope you can help.

Regards, Si

Hello Si,

I used a metal pipe with hydraulic fittings (8 or 10mm i didn't remember  ) and I got a hose from a universal auto shop.

Just one week to go for holiday to Italy, have some small jobs to do.
Bought a Optima and Ctek as leisure battery for radio, interior-lights etc.

First seat is in, (70ie Recaro), other seat is going in this weekend. I put them on modified runners so they can slide up and down (runners are now on extended extra brackets witch i can dump when the tubs are going in  ).
When we like them (Italy is 3500+ km testdrive :msn4:) i’m get them covered in bruin skai just like original.

Great work as usual Mycha

Looking forward to the holiday pics

Almost holiday time :D so last moment things to do....

Installed the leisure battery parts, the optima was not good (secondhand) so bought a new AMG 70AMP one, installed the Ctek and all the 12v is connected; fridge, stereo, compressor, interior-lights, water-pump and 12v cigarette lighter.

We use a IKEA bed-top (so you don't feel the separate cushions off the seat) that a local trim-shop cut to fit but the Skai is sliding it around, so my misses put some cord around it ;).

Also put some cord around our forks etc. so it won't rattle

The seats are in, I like the look off them without the headrest, when they are good to sit in on a long journey they will be re-upholstered.

Hey Mycha,
Any chance you could provide details on your compressor & mods you've made to the Monroe shocks, I've got the same fitted and would like to do something similar ;)
Thanks

Sure no problem, no secrets 8) love to help the early-bay-society ;)

Compressor is a replica Viair, bought it from a shop that now isn't there anymore. Here they have the same: http://volksprojects.nl/webshop.html

I have a airlift gauges-set (with i updated now with a 200psi gauges, i drive the shock's on 140psi/150psi and the old gauges was max. 100psi). I bought it from summit.
The set i've bought exist: 1 gauges, 2 valves, 1/4 airlines and panel with electronic switch, that set i can't find anymore on the website only this one with a compressor:

Here you see my parts:

The shocks are MA824 Monroe witch i modified to adapt a npt-pneumatic fitting:
