I’m struggling to find the correct replacement part for this - has anyone replaced this...

    Silverline bearings

I've just received some new silverline main bearings for my first rebuild. One of the dowel pin holes seems to be poorly drilled and is oval meaning it's doesn't sit on the dowel pin securely. I'm going to send them back but what are the best make of bearings for a rebuild? Not sure if this is...

    Exhaust

I've fitted a new exhaust to the van. Had achell of a job with those thin metal clamps that connect the exhaust to the heat riser bit. The gap is almost too big for the clamp - does anyone know if you can get wider clamps from anywhere as I think it's blowing a bit. Cheers

Anyone figure out this starting issue

I've just fitted a refurbished soles 34 pict 3 carb. When it's running its fine however since fitting it the van is really struggling to start hot or cold - it turns over and over for ages before finally starting - although it feels like it's flooded when it fires - splutters and coughs into...

    Ball joints - mot

Okay so I replaced all 4 ball joints just over a year ago - van has been back in for its MOT and one of the rubber boots on the lower ball joint is split already - van has only covered about 200 miles since they were fitted. At this rate they will need renewing at every mot. So I'm wondering is...

    Solex 34 filter connections

I know this has been posted before but I'm after a bit more information. I've got a solex 34 pict 3 and a standard air filter. Should there be a feed off the fron of the carb into the air cleaner? My air cleaner has a small pipe that looks like it should be connected somewhere (not the oil...

    Hesitation

I know this has probably been asked before but here goes. Standard 1600 twinport, solex 34 carb, vac dizzy, timed at 7.5 btdc, new plugs, new points. When it's cold it drives really well, no hesitation. When it's warmed up and I try to accelerate its as if there is something holding it back...

    Buttys bits throttle linkage

Just fitted this bit of kit and can't speak highly enough of it. My old linkage meant that I only had about an inch of travel so wasn't getting full throttle. The new kit is brilliant - proper throttle travel and much much more solid pedal. Best bit of kit I've bought for my bus so far.

How do you remove this bloody thing. Mines weeping oil out when it's running - is there a special tool or a way of removing this - a screwdriver doesn't seem up to it as it's bloody big screw head?? I'm hoping some thread seal will help seal it if I can get it out and back in
