Hi all, after either of the above for my 68.
Needs to be turnkey or as near to turnkey as poss (carbs/exhaust etc).
Dont really want to be doing rebuilds or owt like that so a good reliable runner is preferred.
Got upto 500 English pounds to spend.
Let me know what you've got.
Thanks, Jim 8)

Pete nice had this a couple of days ago

always a big bonus to hear a motor running before you
hand over the readies

Yeah looks pretty good but its only the longblock. Im after a turnkey really.
Anyone else?

i have a volkspares 1641, twin 34's, adjustable pushrods, 4 into 1 exhaust, billet crank pulley, 4 month old heat exchangers etc. etc. turnkey(and see running before you buy)......... but i won't let it go for less than £600, and i won't have time for any sort of collection/ viewing arrangements until i get back from serbia on the 19th

It says in the above linked thread that he will build it up with everything for £595,sounds reasonable to me.

That £595 is for freshly powder coated tinware I am dropping off tonight to be done. That was built up with alternator etc.

I have some other tinware unpainted & could probably cobble together a near turn key engine for less money.

I have:

Good 1600cc long block
Early clutch 200mm
Used head tins
Moody stock dog house fan housing
Dog house cooler & new seals.
Dog house ducting tins.
Used under tins
Dynamo, stand & wide fan
Near new 34 pict carb
1600 manifold & ends.
009 dizzy, cap & leads
Blue coil & clamp
T2 used heat exchangers.

I could swipe the exhaust off my early bay as I won't need it for a while to make a running motor. It would be complete apart from front & rear tins & the 2 small tins that close the inlet manifold. That would make for an easy engine swap.

You can hear the engine run before hand as it would be ready to go. I have done the flywheel oil seal & set the valves already.

I would sell that lot running for £450.

Let me know & I can order an engine brace bar bracket & fit that too. Pete: 07970 540757

That sounds spot on Pete, and i think iv got the missing tinware in my garage somewhere.
Prob better if i give you a call tomorrow.
Jim :D

I have just repaired the dog house fan shroud. Someone had drilled some holes in it to route the plug leads through. I have welded up the holes, ground them back & splashed a bit of paint on it.
I have just had a sort out of what I have. There is a pair of J tubes if you didn't need heat exchangers, you could knock another £25 off the price.

It looks like I have everything there, the tinware just needs a good clean. I would dust some satin black over it before fitting to at least make it look presentable...

The other tinware would be back from paint by mid week. I could have this engine built up with either tin & running by the week end if not before.

OK, I have built up the engine for you with the used tinware. I have painted all of it with satin black to at least make it look half decent.

All I need to fit is the exhaust, run the engine & set the timing. Everything else is on & set.
