I'm going to bookmark this thread as I've been thinking of the same beam, front and rear brake set up for my double cab.

Cab is coming along, refitted all the dashboard fresh air ducting and fitted new kick panels. Just need to finish up the wiring and fit the indicator stalk.



Also fitted a new engine bay seal and got the tank in. Engine in next

Tank is in and secured, fire wall is screwed on and gearbox is mounted and driveshafts are fitted and torqued up. Tomorrow’s job, fit the motor :mrgreen:
 
Modified the new exhaust a bit too, the silencer kicked back under too far and fouled the engine bar but after a bit of a fiddle it will sit nicely under the bumper :)

 
So a slightly disheartening week, had to pull the engine out again as I had overlooked drilling a hole in the mid mount for the throttle cable :roll: So sorted that then found the throttle cable is now too short thanks to the 091 box being a bit longer but I’ll just get the mega long universal cable to be sure lol
 
So I’ve sorted the throttle cable issue and refitted the engine this morning. Also had some bits arrive for the fuel system too, the pipe and other fittings can’t be far behind so hopefully I can make a start on that soon.

 
Not an overly productive day as I was subjected to the mother in laws dreaded Mini one :roll:

However i did manage to build up and fit the steering column along with a new ignition switch and NOS coupling for the top of the box




The bus also now has a working steering lock for the first time in the 11 yrs I’ve owned it :) Fiddly but worth while

Made a start on the fuel system tonight. Again I’ve gone for the aircraft grade Teflon with fabric overbraid and AN-6 fittings. The old pipes were still good but for what it costs and the fact the fittings are reusable I thought i may as well redo it.



Got an adaptor from CB Performace for the thread on the bottom of the tank, 30 micron reusable filter, Holley fuel pump and a matching Holley regulator in the engine bay. Should be a neat, functional and durable set up.
