I have been offered a reasonably cheap gearbox that is currently sitting in a t3(t25,vanagon..) with an aircooled engine.
I have read about the benefits of certain 6 rib gearboxes , and apparently they can provide "longer legs" for motorway cruising.
Idoes anybody know if these early t25 boxes would fit in an earlybay?
...well, mine is a crossover

Hi you would need to find a nose shift and a t2 bell housing as far as I know

Yes, the shifting connection is very different. Im sure Ive read about it being done in the past, but its generally not considered worth the effort.

Umm.... Thanks for the feedback... I think I will look for a latebay box, with the right "long legs" codes... I reckon that one would be a lot easier to fit!
