70 Deluxe Sunroof

Hi Guys

So i finally figured out how to post pics, so here goes my story...
I bought this deluxe stripped down and all parts in boxes, plus minus 3 years back. It has been a long journey to get it as it is now, but what a adventure of sourcing parts, meeting fellow aircooled nutters and pulling my hair out!!
Here is SA we are not as lucky as you guys and parts, body panels and donor buses is getting more and more scarce.
A lot of lead work were done to minimize the body filler work.

Incidentally our 69 Bay is from South Africa. It's is also beige with a white roof, was a church mini bus in South Africa from 1969-2004.

And so the assembly starts

So i got hold of some Rostyle rims. Wanted a 15" setup and still keep old school look. I detailed them and think they came out pretty good.
I also decided to redo my back lenses. Used glass paint on inside if lenses and sprayed the silver on outside lip. Not perfect but cost me about nothing.

My deluxe chrome strips on panels were looking really shoddy, so bought car vinyl in silver and redid them. I used a hair dryer to heat it up over mould and then trimmed it carefully as not to cut original vinyl on panels.

So had my engine rebuild and added a empi gt 4 tip exhaust.

Roof lining goes in.

Added some new rubber to step.

Also took out all the dents on deluxe trim, sanded it all and polished it up. Looks brand new.

Windows in and buffed up!! ready to roll

That looks really nice mate - well impressed with the resto work on the rear light lenses and the silver panel trim 8)
