Hi, just wondering, when the seat goes flat, is it the same level as the parcel shelf or do you have an extra bit of foam ie like westy's etc? If not, I cant imagine its overly comfortable?
what do people do? Take an air bed to put on top of the lot?
I must admit, I will probably only ever use it for long weekends so this could be an option

Cheers

i put one in a customers split and as its level with the rear shelf what i did was to make the rear cushion as two pieces, both the same shape and thickness one on top of the other.
then when the bed goes up you pull the top one forward so both bits are padded and the same level ;)

Now that sounds like a good idea !

We put an air bed in ours with towels down the gap to stop it sinking in the middle. Will be ripping it out and fitting a rock n roll over the winter.

I fitted Z Bed hinges and fitted a rear seat into Patrick the shop bus, when folded out it comes level with the piece over the engine. Dave Frost of Z Bed remaking fame suggested a futon mattress from Ikea and it works a treat, its exactly the right size 140 x 200 and folds into 3 when not in use behind the rear seat on top of the engine bay. I only use that on top of the engine may and its perfectly alright.

I've slept on it a few times now and find it really comfy, I think the mattress is something like £57
