Probably a stupid question but air ride front shocks, do people still run torsion leaves in beam? As I was wondering if the shocks fight against the torsion?

Ive seen a beetle that ran a solid round bars through front beam on air shocks but theyre lighter than a bus?

Cheers

Air shocks are just to 'aid' your suspension on heavy loads. They are not designed to be suspension or raise/lower you car. You can buy Air Ride bags that look a lot like shocks and can be used as suspension in conjunction with a shock absorber, but they should not be bolted on to the stock shock mounts. The top bolt and bottom arm mount were not designed to take the weight of a bus, that's what the leaves are for.

You can bolt them on to the standard shock mounts but you do still need the leaves.
You will also get a bit more lift from making
If you have a look at http://forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=21827" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
This is a very informative thread, you could also call Paul Medhurst at T2D who supplies an air ride kit using Monroe shocks.
