I added a new album yesterday synced mine to iTunes and downloaded the latest software upgrade to the phone and iTunes and now it's buggered up my iPod albums list, for some reason now the phone in iPod mode thinks I have 1069 albums, it's displaying many of the same albums as in it's showing each track of particular albums as albums on the album list and each track listing has the full album list in when selected. I only have 162 albums on iTunes on the pc and I can't seem to get my iPod to display the same as iTunes, I've deleted and resynced 3 different ways now.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Restore it back to factory settings when connected to your PC or MAC, takes about 10 minutes as it deletes everything off and starts again. Has worked for me when I've had clitches with the iphone.

Me too! Mind you I am on a super cheap deal with Orange until next year so dont mind paying sodd all for me phone calls till then ;)

I had one for 2 days didn't like it and sent it back, i had the same trouble with itunes and the iphone, split all my compelation albums up and each track appeared as a new album...... it pissed me off so it went back. Camera was bobbins too!

my cousin has an i phone, she says its great at everthing expect being a phone

Thanks Graham,

Not sure i want to do that as i have loads of apps and sat nav, my accounts etc etc loaded on there and dont want to risk losing it.

Its only the ipod functions, everything else is fine and all was fine till i downloaded the upgraded software, this has happened to me before with an ipod Nano years ago, downloaded new software and it never worked again, couldn't restore it or anything.

All your apps should still be on your iTunes - that's the beauty of the iPhone, as it backs up itself to your Mac/PC each time you connect it.

As long as you back it up before restoring all your apps, setting etc are saved as blogdroed points out, I've restored mine a couple of times with no problem, after the restore you just need to resync it and it should be back working,

Same here - the only thing you'll have to change is your ring tone and on which page your apps appear ... but they'll all be there!

Well I have a Blackberry Storm, as I didnt fancy paying for an iPhone at the time. It's ok but iphone on the list next time.

I am hanging out till next year as I want a decent camera with mine (5mp and up) but there are rumours that the new one will be a iphone HD 8) with a better camera and faster workings due to a different internals. Sound like ze one for me! ;)

Sorry I haven't replied because I have never had problems with my Iphone (touch wood). I know you can set albums as 'All Songs' which sounds like the problem but on my phone I just flick back and click albums and it returns to normal. It took a week or so to get used to but I wouldn't be without it.....

The new updated software makes it a little slower but has helped with the usability, I have used blackberry's, smart phones, various touch screens and the Iphone is so far ahead it is not even comparable. (I even have a blackberry for work...never use it)

Easy is right though, they will be bringing out a new Iphone and will be looking at the camera feature as that is the only thing that lets it down.........oh ..........and the astronomical price  :(

I hope you get it sorted. Stick with it....don't give up like Ant

Looking at the iPod disscusion forums on iTunes alot of people are having my problems since downloading the 3.1 software this week
