I've been digging around at the possibility of sorting out my 18 son a classic Beetle. I was quite taken back after some research that the early Beetles are the cheapest car to insure for 17+ year olds. Even cheaper if a 3000 mile limited policy is taken out, which would be ideal as he is at uni and would only use the car when he's home.

So the question is are there any early tax exempt Beetles going begging at sensible money? does not need to be perfect, and a small amount of work is not a problem, so long as its not a dog.

As requested ;)

Very nice, love the wheels :) was thinking of doing the same for my boy but it seems the days of cheap beetles are gone, can I ask how much 'sensible' is ?
