Three splines at the rear is a big big drop and you would need to get the front down a lot too.

If you do a search for dropped spindles in either the general or technical forums there is a thread detailing 4.3" dropped balljoint spindles from a company called the Slammedpanel who are based in Holland.

If i were to really dump my van i would have gone down this route as 4.3" is quite a drop, however depends how high your van sits at present.

The problem with Slammedpanel is that they don't seem to reply to any emails but never telephoned.

Hope this helps.

ok.... thanks for the advice.

i've had a think about it, what i'd really like is to change the front beam for a narowed adjustable one...
but i can't find one on most of the sites i've looked at. the only narowed one i could see was the link pin bay beam on type2detectives, though i have no idea of how much it can be ajusted. (if anyone knows of somewhere else??)
atm the back is lowered 3splines
does any one know if this beam would do the job? maybe with slammed tyres? or would i need to raise the back up?

...or even is it a job that can be done by me? ie narrow it and fit the adjusters?

Depends on your technical ability. Alot of cutting and strong welding will be required.

Creative engineering do a narrowed and adjustable beam, the Weedeater. Its supposed to be a great product.
To give a van a good 'slammin' and a decent ride its best to use drop spindles as well as an adjustable beam.

My old bay was 2 at the back and VERY low - I'd not go lower if you want to retain any sense of driveability! To match this, I cut and turned the front beam - the turn was an inch and an eighth.

Yes - about 4 years ago - in fact, it was 2002!! It was right outside the entrance for a while... I loved that van - it was a UK van that had never been welded!

thought so, me and the wife spoke to you for a while about it

was about 8.5k i think, lovely bus, didnt have the cash at the time tho

hope it went to a good home

It went to a guy who wanted it to transport his wife about who was in a wheelchair, but they wanted a classic custom type car rather than a Berlingo or similar - it was less than £8500 - imagine that now!!
