Poss contencious but which is best on a standard 1600cc, anyone got one or other what are your thoughts having bought any pro's cons. My engine is standard at present altough I may well mildly tune at some stage.... Any advse / piccys would be great.

Bummer let a few beetles go like that and regret it looking back esp. the ones I restored then never really got around to using...

they both get good reviews, i know the BB one doesnt tarnish and cost £300 complete compared to the JK one at £315, so i guess its down to price/availabiity. is JK postage still a fiver?

I've had a Bluebird on my 1600 (with Weber 32/36) for about 2 years.
Still looks great, sounds great, and has been a great runner. I would recommend them to anybody, and if I was buying a new exhaust would get exactly the same again :)

Cheers botjh any chance of pics, I'm reading this that the BB one doen't tarnish and threfore may look better over time?

there is also a guy on vzi -fpr936e anyway he makes silverspanner stainless exhausts - worth a look?

Looks great Ash thanks for posating pics, most people are saying htere cheaper at teh shows is that generally the case?
If so are we talking p&p savings or better?

Cheers

Ive had two BB ones, on diffrent vans, and can vouch for them ... both lovely and the improved BB ones dont tarnish like the old ones did (it was no biggie though).

Id use BB and support an independant trader ;)

I have A Bluebird system...type4 header/type1 muffler, very happy with even though it has the hot-spot mark

Do like the vintagespeed that Gary saw in Volksworld...but 500notes

But I also recently came across this one on Vzi..especially if your after a stockish looking SS system
you will have to go to page 5 to see the type2 system

Thanks all reckon BB is the way forward so far as it seems tried and tested, is it very loud? see some convert back cos of the noise etc.

Vintage speed looks good but not sure ya can fit heat exchangers by the look of it, other vzi unit also looks very good but praps less tested than BB so for now monies on that system esp. if there at a show or if like other items there was interest in a bulk buy anyone else for one ?!
