So this is the 1st picture of one of the many disasters this time round.
The leads I ordered from a specialist arrived and are meant for a type 4
I will do a small write up on it when the new ones arrive.
Picture of the new flywheel that replaced the old one that had a hairline crack in it.
Now the clutch that I bought off a friend on this site. However it was not his fault that the size is wrong and
it was out of round. You can see it does not fit into the recess , both on the new and old flywheel.
You can just make out that it is about 5 mm to big on one side.(top).
Engine finally back in , 2 and 1/2 hours later and a little help from the neighbor.
This was the culprit for most of the time, the top left where you cant get your arm into. Little bit of
gaffer tape and a ratchet spanner and finally back in place.
And then this stuff arrived with vengeance and buggered up the rest of my play time.
The cold I can live with most of the time in the garage but lying in the snow is not for me.
One piece of advice people, never use round head bolts and a lock nut if it is exposed to the elements
and you cant get a grip on it. Ask me how I know!
Some welding had to be done to repair and replace.
Well that's about it for now , 2 weeks leave and not enough done
Better luck next time, for now we keep plodding on.
Have a good week all.
