this morning i was about to take my usual turn of the dual carriageway to work, when an absolutely mint k reg crossover (blue/white tintop with whitewalls) passed me in the fast lane. needless to say i clicked the indicator off, and gave chase

it was well worth it, the van was proper mint, looked like a fresh resto, or an exceedingly well looked after model. which is quite a rare thing oop north, it's not like you midlanders/southerners who have vans on every corner, it's mainly landys up here ;)

must have added a good 10-15 minutes to my commute, but who cares?!

last night i did something similar when i spotted what looked like a classic porsche a few 100 yards ahead in traffic, gave chase, and caught up with a fresh white F reg 912. mmmmm..... dream car for me that. looked like a recent US import, as was still on red indicators. we kept swapping places in the traffic, was kinda funny to be the person ogling a mint motor, not the one drivin one looking embarrassed at the attention (i was in our new mini both times)

i also recall chasing down MMMC from on here one evening as i saw him flash by as i was turning into the road. he pulled into a playschool to pick his kids up and was immediately jumped on by some babbling nutter, in white taekwondo outfit to make things even worse! he worked out who i was eventually :D

anyway, anyone else do this, or is it just me?!

Me and my mate Jason got completely lost in london once because we thought it would be a good idea to follow a Dodge Charger and a Cheverolet Yenko Camaro hoping they would stop so we could take some pictures :D but as soon as they got main road, my camper was a little out of it's depth to keep up :(

Your not alone mate, I do it all the time, I followed a very original early right hand drive deluxe with all the deluxe goodies for about a mile through north London a couple of years back. A mile might not seem far but took about 40 minutes, finally he pulled into a petrol station and I got out to chat , he knew nothing about earlybay.com and wasnt really into the whole show scene, just loved the van and used it for work (stall holder or something)

Sad thing about this one was that he had had a knock on the front and replaced it with a late bay one  og paint uk bus too.

Im also one for having to follow up a rumour of a hidden or abandoned gem somewhere. Traveled miles once when someone told me of a van like mine laying derelict behind an old petrol station. Turned out to be an old mitsubishi

I've always wanted 1 of them too ;)

Yep, many a time I've sat behind an 'oldie' whether it be a veedub or not, and have deliberately missed 'my' turning, just to enjoy the experience a little longer!
I've been more aware of people doing the same to me when I've been out in my little Mini Traveller. I've been bimbling along, almost driving in the gutter on occasion, in order to let people pass if they wish, and they haven't! :D

Have seen a blue tintop (think it has a white top) round the corner from me (it's a crossdresser too) so probably that one.
Not spoke to him as yet as I'm not that way inclined ;)

Not been at his house this week and with it being half term, thought he might have gone away in it.
Next time I see him, might say high (did leave a flyer on under his wiper though ;) )

I onced raced a Lovely mg on the A30 ,I had a old battered Morris Marina ,everytime he came to overtake me I speeded up....

It made me laugh that something old an crap was faster than something old and expensive... 8)

I kinda do the same thing with my bay and the 60mph trucks... :p
