Hi Guys
What should my oil pressure be? Just installed the gauge and sender and its sitting at 45-50psi with a warm engine (approx 170f) is this normal?
Thanks in advance.
:)

That doesn't sound right, oil pressure should climb with engine revs. And sounds on the high side for idling oil pressure. Does it read zero with the engine off? Does it build pressure as you crank it?

I understood that it should be about 10psi per 1,000 revs.

Mine idles at about 9-11 psi and peaks at about 40-ish, climbing fairly evenly from tickover.

I didn't mean it's at that for both idle and 3000 rpm I meant what is it meant to be at those two different rpm's!!! ;)

It is sitting at about 20psi at idle and gains as mentioned here as rev's increase.

Just didn't want it to be massively wrong...

Want to refit the oil pressure light into a T-piece does anyone on here make one?

Yes they do, its what I used to do the same as you are planning. Think I got it from Machine 7, I'll try to find out.
