8) .....to be honest I would never trust myself or be happy enough with my quality to let myself near the bus with a welder but I do have a couple of projects I want to do where a welder would be of benefit....

Trust me guys I'll have lots of scrap metal in the unit that you will be able to play with

OK

The main topics that seem to spring up and I think we should try and cover are:

Leisure Battery Fitting
Electrical Hook Ups
Routine Engine Service
Different examples of lowering (Red 9 vs Drop Spindles vs Adjusters etc)
Electronic Ignition Fitting
Replacing Fuel Lines
How about:-
Fitting a tacho / rev counter
Reverse switch fitment and wiring
Routine engine service including setting timing / points (i can provide a timing light)
Rock & Roll bed fitting

Just another few ideas to throw into the pot 8)

Seems to be a few eletrical jobs cropping up on the list, what about converting windscreen washers to electric and wiring in spotlamps or stereos.

I wouldn't be too sure about spraying, anyone that is near your unit might complain for a start, extraction would be a problem, proper lighting and some form of heat would be strongly adviseable as well, you'd have to use either 2 pack or celly, people would need proper paint masks and it would make the unit unusable for anyone else whilst it was going on.

The best option is to seal any body repairs made over the weekend by rollering in some high build 2 pack primer.

I would like basic servicing and fuel lines (Idiots guide, mind...) and my lad would be interested in any welding stuff that would be going on.

I can do food/ BBQ sort of stuff, and could help with curtains /upholstery/interior bits. Not a lot to offer I know.

It's a really good idea and I hope it gets off the ground :D

It does seem that most people are scared to tackle electrical stuff so maybe this would be a good idea, talk people through reading schematics (i know that there are god knows how many schematics but reading a basic schematic means that you will have a rough idea when working on your own bay),

Jim

Thanks for the reminder, its not that I've forgotten its just been a bit busy. I need to check with my new landlord that he's happy to have a bunch of EarlyBays sat around his yard for the weekend, will try and check this over the weekend and post an update as soon as I can next week.

Advantage here is that there is an all year round campsite not too far away from the storage unit :D

Any more ideas of dates?
I can make March 7/8 ( 2 weeks after Dubfreeze) or april 4/5 (2 weeks before Bustypes), This give us a chance to either fit whatever we buy from Dubfreeze or an idea of what to buy at Bus types

I'm definately still up for this Graham. Just secured my next early westy at the weekend so basics would be great

Hi this sounds like a great idea, I could do with help on the basics of engine servicing, setting up etc! hope that I can make the date that is decided on :)
Is it still going to be around the Redditch area?

I'd be up for this if I get my Dormy on the road in time.
I was thinking another useful topic could be lowering your bus.Everyone loves a bit of lowering.I'm gonna buy a second hand beam anyway and maybe I could bring it along and we could have a look at how to fit adjusters to it and possibly narrow it.Also how to lower the rear would be useful.I've never done it yet,but what I could do is have a practise at it get all the bolts loosened and the splines free and do it again on the day.

if i ever get my bus on the road, id be up for this, could help out with engine building/servicing, welding skills, electrical items addons etc etc.

could be a very informative meetup with lots of booze [after school of course] :)

I'm new to early bay and this would be a great chance to learn and meet people. I'd be very interested if theres space for me.
