When the wife and I restored our EB some years ago we didn't get round to doing the engine compartment.
So, out with engine and fuel tank and guess what? yep, the dreaded tin worm has been at work.

Some before and after pics:

Now don’t come on here boasting and showing off your nice shiny noisey cupboard!
Anyone else wanna “”Show Off”” and post there’s up maybeeees ;)

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,well there’s the bench mark

Nice work, wish everyone did this. As speaking as a mechanic, dirty or untidy engine bays make me angry and boil inside

So am I [emoji3]
What’s the best way to paint in here as it’s quite an enclosed space ?
I’m thinking of how to avoid the fumes etc [emoji848]

a good mask and ventilation...still gave me pain though!!

Mike any particular reason you going for cellulose paint? I personally like them, but i thought nobody used them anymore lol😄
I found that if i don’t spray a very thin last coat to bring up the shine, the cellulose paint becomes quite dull and absorbs the oil/grease and stains a lot. Have you had the same results? I am not a professional painter hehe😁😁

I thought cellulose was the DIY choice, as 2 K you need a proper mask and protection from the poisonous isocyanates in the paint. I was going to have a go at doing it myself as I wanted to get the engine bay area cleaned in for the new engine ;) ;)
I can't really go anywhere at the mo otherwise I would let someone who knows what they are doing paint it

Yes, cellulose is really easy to paint and dries quickly. Finish can be really good too, that’s why i like it a lot😃👍
