Hi,
On turning the ignition off the engine carried on running and the horn sounded. Keeps running with key out of ignition (& horn still sounding)
Had to stall the engine to stop it.
With engine stopped the horn still sounds unless I disconnect the battery.
I had earlier that day finished re-installing leisure battery system but on finding the problem disconnected it to see if it made any difference, it didn't.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to sort this?

Cheers

sounds like a crossed wire or bad earth somewhere to me. Worth looking around the steering column and checking the wires from the ignition to make sure they are okay.

If you are looking for a link between the two, I can only think that the ignition wire has come off and is somehow making contact with the steering column.

As the column is insulated as part of the horn circuit (and is earthed by steering wheel button), this could provide a +ve supply for the ignition. Which would complete the circuit for the horn too (although sharing the 12V with the ignition, so not at full voltage).

Plausible in theory, but very unlikely in practice.

Hi,

Many thanks for the help. Found positive wire to ignition had chaffed through another wire at a fourway connector plug.
Sorted and running (& stopping) again.

Cheers

Neil
