Hi guys
i seem to be getting a slight smell of exhaust fumes in my bus?
I've only realy noticed this since changing my sliding door seal which by the way now will not close properly any ideas
My heat exchangers are not connected to any pipes leading to the bus cab so it cant be them can it?
I did put a new quite pack exhaust on but this is all fine(i think)
any other way for fumes to get into the bus
look forward to your pearls of wisdom dudes

Are you 100% sure it`s exhaust fumes ?? Is it possible it could be oil dripping onto something hot as mine does this a bit. It still shouldn`t be getting in the van though. The other thing I`ve noticed with my old bus, is that every previous owner had drilled or cut or hacked holes in and around the back loading bay and the sloping bit down to the cargo area and the cargo area as well there are various holes for gas pipes and waste pipes and all sort of things. I also had some what looked like self tapper holes internally on the inside of the rear air vents. The combination of all of them meant I got some nasty fumes in. Wonderfull stuff that gaffer or duck tape ;) ;) If it`s got worse since the new rubbers then it sounds like a poor seal which may get better with use. The combination of small holes and the extra draught you may have introduced may be enough to get exhaust or oily smells into the bus. All draughts need a way in and a way out, you may just have provided that, so mhave a real good look around and see what you can seal up :?

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,, Knows all about strange smells !!

Thanks Ozziedog I'll have a sealing up session with the gaffer tape of any offending likely looking holes and check my oil level it doesn't normally loose any since I did crancase seal but I'll check any way
Congrats on your crisp new mot by the way
