All as I know is that hydrant powder is the devils own spunk to get off.Not to bad on a flat surface but on the block its a BASTAD (im still trying on mine).But your body dont seem that bad by first glance, so not "too"bad.
But a major BUMMER none the less.
But yours an mine (fires).Did make me think are there, beyond the obvious ways of reducing the likelyhood of such occurances ?

...As I understand it that means that if you pour petrol on your hot engine it will vaporise (because the temp is above -43) however it won't ignite (because the temp is less than 246). You'll need a spark or an engine casing that's hotter than 246 to actually get it to ignite.

Does that sound right or am I getting muddled (I am a bear of very little brain). ;-)

That's right - now don't try this at home kids but when I was younger (and foolish, as the young should be) my mate and I used to keep a jar of petrol handy to put our **** out in as his lockup has no water
source nearby!!!

I was young. what can I say... :oops: :oops: :oops:

;)

Ha ha been there foolish youth an all that remember playing football with flaming tennis balls, lighting your hand covered in petrol all the fun things but then u need to remember that **** are approx 400 degrees c at the tip...... so why didnt it ignite?

we get back to density surface area etc blah blah.....

Doughnuts = really good!

not sure why the last bit is relevant it just is! :wink:

Yeah, but if you've got a fire going you really want marshmallows.

Sounds like you got off really light Speedman. You wouldn't like to pick 6 numbers between 1 and 49 for us would you? ;-)

this is the reason i put the fire flex system on the bay. for just over £100 it makes sense to fit one. you had a lucky escape mate, by the time most people realize there is a problem there van is well alight! Put some nos stickers on my bottle and now everyone thinks its on laughing gas!!

Hi LuAn, yes, i just used 3 bits of alloy angle and bolted them together so as to keep the bottle upright and fit the contour of the wheel tub, just bolted it through the tub with 10mm nuts and bolts. sits nice and tight and will not wobble. the switch is just for the leisure battery cut off.

that is one tidy looking engine.

well i had petrol spill out all over the engine from a lose clip on the pipe into the float chamber, when i say spill i mean like someone had left the tap running. All i can say is i was dead lucky as when i lifted the engine lid and had a loook i could see a 1cm pool of fuel lying on the tinware, it evaporated pretty quickly
