My indicator stalk is a bit floppy and wondered if anyone had any advice on tightening it up? All indicators and high beam now work fine but it won't hold itself in the right/up flash position? Just the weight of the arm makes it drop back down?

Hi,

That sounds like its working correctly to me? When you 'flash' the headlights it is only momentary at the stalk, it flicks a latching relay to switch on full beam.

Or are you talking about the indicating right position?

Mine was the same bed I ended up having to replace it. I originally tried replacing the springs etc thinking a little more tension might help but it didn't (for me) so sourced a second hand replacement unit.

It depends how handy you are with small stuff. If you take the switch out the housing you will see the switch is held in position by a couple of small pawls which are held against their respective posts by small springs.

If the pawls are worn it's possible to sharpen up their profile with a Dremel. If the springs are at fault or missing it's possible to re loop them or replace them with something about the same.

One wouldn't normally go to such lengths for a switch but replacements are expensive.

Thank you for the advice, I don't mind small stuff so will give that a go :D

I think I may have an idea what the problem is. Would I be correct saying there is a spring missing here?? If so where can I obtain one?
