Went for a ride out up to ullswater tonight, first time out really this year.

On the way back some halfwit decided to plough into the back of us on a roundabout

How bad is it?

The bumper is relatively unscathed, his bumper missed it and went straight over to the engine lid, new overrider squashed, valance squashed (engine OK) rear corner destroyed by the overrider!
Is this a big job to put right?

Your thoughts would be welcome

Martin

Your gonna need an apron but the corner should pull out ok, looks like a pretty solid bus.
Hope no one hurt dude

I feel you pain , but is really not that bad, a good shop should be able to fix it and make it look like nothing happened, now you have an excuse to respray the whole bus so the fix matches the rest of it
Do replace the engine lid, bumper guard, etc.

whip the apron off and have a gander at the engine support, chassis, look at the engine case etc.... the rest is fairly nasty looking but superficial, just hope hes insured ....

Thanks guys, had a good look underneath and it seems fine. The overrider has caused a lot of damage to the rear corner. It will be interesting to see how any new paint will match in, do you reckon a respray might be on the cards?? I will get an insurance quote tommorrow from my local VW restorer guy.
Feeling a bit better about it now
I just liked it the way it was.

You and whoever was in the car , should be in A an E getting checked for whiplash . have you got a stiff neck yet ? Ive been shunted form behind twice Now ( Piss off with the jokes before the councillor starts ) And both times ive been badly injured .

Get checked out then make him pay 3 quotes etc and seriously check out that triangular support .

I was hit from behind on a roundabout in a Citreon AX with a passenger in the car. We both put in a claim for whiplash, I had been to the Dr's he hadn't. I ended up getting ten times the compensation he did!

I feel sorry for your tragic upheaval some prat reversed into mine b4 xmas I took mine to the local VW dealer and they quoted £4k to repair mine.I was happy with that ,but i'm still waiting for the electrics to be sorted out, check that all the internal and things you can't see are ok.

Ah the jokes. After someone drove into the back of my car on a Friday night, I was greeted on Monday morning, in front of dozens of strangers, with a very loud " I hear you took it up the arse at the weekend!". Thanks Davy.

Ouch Pete!

Looking at the damage the overrider may have saved even more damage, but it doesn't look too bad. Being their fault, at least you know it will be repaired at their cost.

Good luck.

Jon
