petrol prices are going mad!!!

i remember the last time petrol prices went thru the roof everyone was up in arms and so they came back down again! this time everyone is just sitting back and letting it happen?!?!

at this rate i'm NOT gonna be able to afford to run my bus by summertime!!!!

Not just there mates , here in the states as everybody is worried about other issues I have noticed the same thing , goes up a few cents every day and nobody is saying anything.
You don't see too many of those monster trucks around anymore , but lots of little buggers all over the place. Still not as bad as the UK tough :(

it is a joke!i think round here we pay about 1.11 - 1.12 , i went up 2 nottingham a couple of weeks ago and passed a 1.18!!! wtf is going on!taking the pi$$ springs to mind

"old gits stylee" yeearrrh i remember paying £1.35 at the cheapest fuel station in cornwall just a year or so ago....compared to that i think its still quite cheap...i mean it was over £100 to fill my t4  no its about £75-80

we should kick off again?!?!?!?

Great excuse for a cruise :D :D ;)

so where could the entire population of earlybay cruise to, to all park up and create a huge protest?!?!?

the entire population being...anyone with a road legal early bay!!!

just all go for a drive than accidently stop and block the motorway turnings ..no way on ...home is where you park it though ...right??

Hey ib-bus, I appreciate the price has risen in the states, but how much is it now for a US gallon of unleaded? We will of course have to convert that to pence per litre (and per imperial gallon for us old gits!) Was last int the states 20 yrs ago, was about half th UK price. Was in South Africa a few months ago and it was roughly 70 pence a litre.

I started noticing it when I'd get less litres than I had to pay in pounds - really kicked in today when filling up the bike - used to put in just shy of a tenner when getting low and cost me best part of £14 for a full tank!! - not looking forward to filling up the bus next time round.....can't understand that we had fuel protests when it hit, what, 0.90p? It was £1.18 on the A6 last week and there's nothing in the press this time round? Fuel has gone down crap loads since the $100 per barrel peak but am I right in thinking that tax hasn't?

Ive just changed my daily from petrol to diesel and I reckon I made a wise move. I can pay upto 115 for a litre here at the moment, but like Scott says, it was as much as 135 a year and a half ago

To be fair, campaigning for cheap fuel to run an old bus for fun isnt going to attract that much sympathy from anyone. Especially if you get asked how much road tax you pay ;)

Minimize the amount you use where you can, and make a 'summer' fund 8)

It is a rip off, but they way i look at it these days, a small bottle of coke at a petrol station is £1.50 something like that, and thats not even a litre!!

I hear you dude, I'm driving my bus from the middle of suffolk to the west-end of london tomorrow, i'll be looking at £50-£60 on petrol i reckon. Not cool :?

i believe alot of the price rises are due to the colder winter and supplies, supply vs demand etc.

I've heard from a friend who works as a Stevedore in belfast harbour, that the big tankers are sitting off the coast till the wholesale prices rise before docking. A penny at the pump can means millions extra per ship.

But you don't NEED coke to get to work ;)

No true, and beleive me it gets my goat aswell. But it is cheap when you compare it to other things. A pint of beer for example. Even a pastie at greggs! And you think of the transport costs / Refinery costs to make petrol. Then the govenment taking a shed load of tax on it!
