If its not yet registered am i not suppossed to be driving it then?

My insurance company said its fine for 3 weeks but i have to get it registered before the 3 weeks are up which is monday!

The only times you are allowed to drive an un-registered van is to a pre booked MOT or a pre-booked DVLA Vehicle Inspection.
Any other time is naughty naughty unless you have trade plates.

The three week thing might apply if your are foreign and bring your car over? Although I'm assuming you'd need to have the vehicle registered to you in the country that it came from? I remember seeing a thread on VZi about driving on the foreign plates.

To be honest, is there any point risking it?

spoke to my ins company today, re exactly the same thing

you can only drive it to a pre-booked mot appointment

they will cover it for 30 days, with a possible extension after that

after that it needs to be registered and mot,d

You can drive it to a DVLA inpection as well as an MOT. However by the time your driving for the inspection you'll be MOTed anyway.

I went to get mine registered last week @ the Manchester DVLA office and was told they wanted to inspect. I was informed that I would need to either get someone to drive it with trade plates or take it on the back of a trailer as not legal to drive on the road. Basically not there problem and as it was a 60 mile round trip didn't fancy getting stopped by the police and getting a fine or points.

I decided to walk out and drove to a much smaller regional office in Preston who maybe don't handle as many imports and hey no inspection saving me time and possibly money.

Thats intresting, not what I've heard in the past. We've got tradies for work anyway.

Maybe just given the incorrect info from the DVLA ??
