headlights

not the first time this has happened. so can anyone help? got my headlights on, flick onto full beam, turn them back to dip and they are almost dead - I think on half beam. then they will only go to full beam or dead. Is it a loose connection?

probably corroded contacts and/or water in the latching relay. Take out the relay (noting which wire goes where) and carefully take off the alloy cover. Clean the two sets of contacts with fine glasspaper. Dry it out and replace.
