Hi,
The heater system on my westy dose not work. This is mainly due to the fact that someone has removed the fan from the engine bay ( T4 type ) no hoses from the heat exchangers. The outlet from the left H/E has been capped .The o/l from the right hand exchanger is still open.Does anybody have any suggestions. The heat exchangers need replacing (ouch ) so what I had thought of doing was fitting new ones and try to rebuild the system but I have heard that its near on possible to find the fan that sits in the bay.
Alternatively I of capping the o/l's on the new exchangers and install a propex system.

Yours thoughts and any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Cheers

Hiya vv,

I'm certainly no expert on the British market for old VW parts but an auxiliary heating fan, judging by what I see on the American market) shouldn't be all that hard to locate. Heck, I have one sitting on the shelf (yes, it works) that I'd sell for a few quid. In any event, you might want to look around a bit before giving up on that idea.

the small fan on t4 motors is only for boost at idle speeds were engine fan does not supply enough ,and i think it only works on defrost as its switched by heater levers.
