Had a late bus clank it's way into Nick's yard a few months ago. Supposedly "new" engine that had already been returned once, due to a piston pick up after about 800 miles previous to this as the the circlip on the gudgeon pin wasn't fitted correctly.
The replacement engine only turned up this week.

Doesn't look particularly new to me though....

That'll be your problem then.

4 pieces?! Is the case screwed?

How did they come across this 'new' engine.

Absolutely fucked, would you build another with this case?
It was bought from an well known engine supplier/refurbisher.
The replacement for this one was purchased from another well known supplier back in October, but only turned up this week.

i reckon i could make a better crank than that ... must be a cheap crap cast repro crank

"Professionally rebuilt" stock engine.

what was the owner doing at the time of the failure?

She was driving to the garage because it was making a clanking noise and was very difficult to change gear.

please tell me/ us owner is getting a new/ replacement unit and fitting free of any charge? OR, (legally permitted?) name that engine reconditioner !>>>PLEASE!
