How is the wood frame secured under glass fibre roof on my Westy.

I have cut away the old westy canvas on my 1970 van. The elevating roof wood battens are rotten in areas where the leaking roof has rotted. I will need to remove the roof and invert to repair/replace the wood frame, so I can staple a new canvas to it.
How is the wood frame secured to the roof please. Is it held by glass fibre webbing ? It currently has screws through roof into frame. These areas have leaked through corroded screws etc.

thankyou, it did appear that was the case. So gonna bite the bullet cut the wood and glass it to the roof. Did want to avoid drilling the cap.
