Has anyone managed to find a policy which will insure your bus for its proper value and allow business use?

It must be possible as there are many wedding/coffee/ice-cream bays and splits......all the regular insurers that cover commercial vans don't offer any agreed valuation or value them much over a trade price.....all the classic insurers don't even like you using a bus for to and from place of work!

any suggestions...

Which companies have you tried already?

I am insured with RH and have agreed value and unlimited mileage but have no need for business or commuting so not sure if they could help.

its the business and commuting I need......in fact if you check your policy it will almost certainly

exclude journeys to and from place of work........worth bearing in mind for someone who just hops in their bus to work occasionally!

Speak to these guys.......I'm sure they will lead you in the right direction

It's a loft conversion firm based in Brighton who use a 1970 doublecab for
Their business use - the bus is even on their homepage!

Good luck

Or send a cheeky email to these guys:

I nearly bought one of their campers which they also hire out.

Oh, let us know what kind of quotes you get?

I have been trying to get business use and hit no end of dead ends. I was recommended swinton by another business using a van although I haven't got round to calling them yet. Must do that tomorrow..............

I'm with Classicline insurance, 01455 639 000 got pretty much unlimited milage, agreed value and to and from work. Not tried business yet. My bus is stock, but I asked about lowering and wheels, and they said it wouldn't be a problem.

excellent guys...thanks for the replies, I will follow them all up and letyou know what we come up with.

at the moment I've put it on my tradex policy for a month...but they will only value it to around 8k...so its a temporary measure
