G, your bus is a stunner, I'd love to see this in the flesh, what an absolute beauty. The interior is truly gorgeous (did I really use that word), if Bromsgrove ever needed an ad for there work this is it, I know who I'm using now. Fantastic work.

Top stuff!!! This is absolutely stunning - and the attention to detail is awesome (there's also plenty of good tips/reminders for me to apply to my bus - so thank you!!!)

As for bringing it down from the clouds... I'm kinda liking this 4x4 type stance... ;)

Hope to see the bus in the flesh in the future (you'll be needing a trailer for all the trinkets it'll be awarded) :D

Well I spent the day getting the bus ready for Busfreeze.

Going to give the show & shine a go, if you are there, stop by & say hello, would be good to put names to faces.

Cheers

Hello All,

Thought it was time for a brief update, we have been using the bus on & off for a few months now, totally enjoying the experience, covered just over 2000 miles, a few teething troubles, but we have worked through them & all seems to be good now.

There are a couple of jobs we didn't show earlier, the first was the buddy seat we fitted in the back. Initially we were not sure if we needed one or not, so decided upon a removable type, but it had to look good, in or out & be suitable for storage

It has a backrest also, but we never use it & I think it looks OK without.

Plenty of room for storage

The seat is held in place by 2 stainless steel pins that retract into the main unit

Out of harms way

Leaving us with a usable seat/storage unit that can be used either in the back of the bus or outside with the table that is stored underneath the wardrobe locker.

The heating in the bus is about as good as it gets with heat exchangers, it gets comfortably warm in the front.

However, the rear proved to be more of a challenge. I initially bought a Propex, but the gas bottle storage proved to be a headache. I have a smallish gas bottle for the cooker, but I know that this would not power the Propex for long.

The solution was either an Eberspacher or Webasto, but most of these seemed to be either diesel (again bringing fuel storage issues) or they were engine bay mounted which again was not an option as we had the leisure battery in that area.

Having searched around & asking on here (Thanks John The Horse :D ), I found that Webasto make a petrol powered one. Here. This solves my fuel storage problem as this can be plumbed straight into the fuel line to the engine.

So it was fitted today & all I can say is WOW, it is so toasty warm (a little noisy perhaps), its neat, compact & virtually invisible.

I had it fitted under the Rock n Roll bed, tucked well out of harms way, the only visible part is the outlet. There was not a great selection of outlets, I think there are better looking ones available, just need to keep searching.

The only control is the rotary dial which is nicely hidden from view.

The main unit sits very neatly out of harms way under the Rock N Roll bed, just got to block off the original vents now to ensure the maximum heat gets to the fornt.

The only visible part underneath, the exhaust exits just in front of the rear wheel.

Initial impressions are really good, it gets so warm, we quickly turn it down to 1/4 power, its great to have it running whilst driving.

Overall, very happy with it, no excuse not to use it now :)

Could you not take a branch from the Webasto outlet and connect to the rear heater pipes to force warm air to the from cabin which would give a better heat distribution throughout and provide demist/defrost to the windscreen when needed?

I thought about that, the only time i need specific heating in the front is whilst driving, the heat exchangers are very good & provide more than enough heat for the cab. By keeping them seperate, the rear passengers have control over their own temperature, as do the people in the front.

But I will not permanently block up the rear pipes, so I can always add in the Webasto to the front if requred.

:D
