well i`ve finally decided that i`m not the person to look after this bus. The deluxe is going to auction at the world renowned coys motor auctions. The auction is taking place on march 12th 2009 so i have a few precious days left to drive and enjoy the best clipper in the world. Its a sad state of affairs :!:

feel for ya fella......hope ya get what ya want for it scotty......( wipes a tear from his eye ) :(

i`m sad because i bought this bus for me....in hindsight i should hav left it where i found it. I want a collector to buy this and to place it in the warm dry enviroment it deserves and to bring it out for stanford once a year

agreed! but best wishes with the next toy :) I hope the best stays the best with the new owner!

but we all got to ogle it an see it in the metal at stanford...so it was worth it to show it to the world. Personally if i owned it.. I think I'd remortgage or spend my kids college fund than let that go [...oh yeah I've already done that..which is why I have'nt been round to buy it  ]

But good luck with the sale, hopefully a collector[ the like of Seinfeld or Clunes] will become aware of it when it goes on an auction catalogue....so hopefully it'll go in a nice collection

Good luck. I'm sure it'll go to someone else who'll appreciate it for what it is and will look after it.
I know how you feel. I've owned some lovely cars in a similar condition and mileage (including a 6k miles late bay) and I was choked to see them go, but storage became the problem for me. :)

Nnnooooooooooo....

sorry I cant disagree more Scott it needs to be driven day in day out, kept as is and cherished, there are still examples out there of well maintained busses looking good, granted it will age but hey dont we all, and like motors some age worse than others......

I'm sad cos this will end up in a collection barely seeing the light of day :(

well folks the reserve is well below the asking price on the website http://www.vwclassics.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; so be brave and bid...you may well be pleasantly suprised

if , maybe ,but.
well if this vehicle doesn`t sell i have been convinced by the T2d spindles and there`s a set of nsu`s that need polishing...i almost don`t want the bus to sell  ..;.;..might need a new rsj though

I would love to see this happen, keep it Scott, you know it will be worth double in a few years.
