thinking of going lower, but was thinking , do i go for drop spindles or adjustable beam (thinking about 3 to 4 inchs, t2d seem to fit the bill ) but what are the advantages / disadvantages?
how far down can i go on the back before encountering problems with wheel removal etc?
are there any pros and cons going k&l front beam?

I'm not trying to be rude, but its worth doing a search for this, there are so many different options all with their advantages and disadvantages.

have done a search, was just wondering what others have done, any problems etc people have come across and most importantly to me any reccommendations.

any advice gratfully recieved.
thanks

dave

PS going away for a few days with work so will reply to anyone when back on wed/thurs!!

hello there.. i went with the option of droping the back end 2 splins and having ajusters put in to the beam and lowered to suit the rear.. it looked great but drove like pooo.. the back at to splins on a standared set up means u cant get the wheel off unless u undo the shock and get a bar in there to push the spring plate down.. the front end was great but slimmed on the (shortened) bump stops when u run over a peace of papper and the mot man didnt like the angle the ball joints sat at.

i have since gone up one to 1 spline on the back and rased the front to match.. no banging and i can change the rear wheels.. dont look as tasty but i dont worry about ripping the exhaust off either.

How ever if i had the dolla the set up i would go for after alot of research reasontly would be on the front ajusters in beam along with t2 dropped spindles and hd ball joint option, and on the rear ajustable spring plates with shocks that u can add air to to rase the back end up to get the wheel off (thats on a 2 spline drop)

hope this helps.

Hi Dave , you could get adjusters welded in at the bus barn in Sudbury ,

It seems to go very low most people with a '70 and older go for a narrowed king/link pin beam set up, with dropped ball joint spindles available now, the only difference is in the cost of buying the spindles and narrowed beam (king/link pin spindles are cheaper).

Not sure if there are more advantages to either set up. I have gone for T2D spindles on my '71.

Hi Dave,
See my link below: -

Might give you an idea of how my bus sits now. I didn't want to go too low but wanted to be able to get my bus in the garage. I am running CSP adjusters on the front and 1 spline at the rear, and also using different front damper set up.

PM me if you want to know anymore and I will pass you my number on and you can call me about it.

Cheers,

James
