Anyone fitted one? Can I mount a Sterling split charge diode in the engine compartment, or as it is finned and not to exceed 40C, should it go under the van? Any feedback much appreciated.

Its to replace a relay.

You'll be fine in the bay, get some heat transfer paste from Maplins or ebay etc it will assist in the transferrence of the radiated heat to the metal surface you mount it onto.

I'd go bigger, the dynamo is easily capable of exceeding that current. I'm sure i ended fitting 30 amp fuses to my split charging circuit because it was blowing 25's ;)
