Silly question....my coil is currently bolted to the engine bay but I've just changed my leads and ignition wiring to Pertronix and the HT leads and ignition wires wont reach. My question is, if I move the coil how does it mount on the fan housing as is standard practice?
Rivets? Or does the fan housing have to come out to put bolts through for the coil holder?

I guess I'm being a bit dumb and there is an easy solution so any advice appreciated..

Oh there may be...I guess they would be higher up where the twin carb arm crosses the face of the fan housing which is why it isn't already mounted there!

Or use some beefy self tappers. I have used the top captive nut and bolt for the bottom attachment of the coil bracket and then drilled and used a self tapper for the top fixing, clears the hex bar linkage easily.

If you have an electric fuel pump you can always use something like this http://www.limebug.net/product/view/1622/cb-billet-fuel-pump-block-off-w-coil-clamp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; which locates the coil down behind the dissy for a neater look....
