Finally got all my parts for the engine rebuild, and had my carbs rebuilt and cerakoted to protect them a bit as well as make them look a little different. Don‘t worry about the old crappy filters, they were just for pics. I have to replace the throttle linkages too, as the carb guy used the incorrect ones but that’s not a big deal.E159DDAA-8B00-4893-996E-087916BD38AB.jpegC48C6F8B-051E-43DC-B4EB-2C23EC4D0C6F.jpeg9F709EA9-3171-4AA7-969F-4B0568DA3149.jpeg5227C59A-EF79-4708-8839-6DA8DB429530.jpeg4626E95E-04BD-4BF5-8A83-954D33305DBC.jpegA0709C03-00CE-4F7F-9C2F-A9C2873D28A0.jpeg2EE4797C-F7B9-4113-B852-3E72B4DCF92C.jpeg847805A8-D1FF-496A-943B-883F0E559F75.jpeg4910524C-1B2D-4EC3-AF82-65B0B5D2B8BA.jpeg40701E2C-4E4C-44ED-8910-9EE083DE7E91.jpeg0DAA3B23-1C6F-4B4E-BFBE-3BF39BEC695E.jpeg

Also got to take my niece to her end of school formal in the bus.

I love opening packets of new stuff!! It's weird how the air filters get all beat up. Mine are the same and I've never bent/knocked/dropped them, maybe it's heat?
I think mine got bent out of shape from tightening up the wing nuts too much as I didn’t want the filter caps to come off. That’ll teach me haha

Wow to those carbys and manifolds. Tell me a little more about this ceracote, it’s a new one to me and it looks great and as you’ve said quite different too :)

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,and we all likes different, don’t we .:):cool::)

Cerakote is the process of heating the cleaned surface and applying a coat of the cerakote before then baking it at a rather high temperature, similar to powder coating, only it’s a lot thinner and doesn’t add any thickness to the part being coated, as it’s a liquid, not a powder. It’s also very durable as I can clean the carbs with carby cleaner or anything similar and it won’t affect the finish.

I’m actually thinking of doing the cases too.

🎄To good to be true. How does the ceramic coating hold up?
I’ve had it on a bunch of dirtbike parts as a factory coating and it holds up really well, apart from on the clutch covers where your boots are constantly rubbing against it, that’s when you wear it off after a period of time.

In this application there won’t be any rubbing so technically it should last as long as the bus, as it holds up against solvents like petrol and thinners etc.

Think i’ll get me whole bus done in it then! 😆🌈👍

Finally got myself a 4in narrowed beam for the bus, so that the dropped spindles don’t let the wheels foul the guards with the bus sitting as low as it does. Pics to come shortly.

Replaced the front brakes with a full disc setup now, and now I need to replace the rear wheel cylinders as they’ve started leaking!!! But waiting on parts to turn up. Haha there’s always something that holds this project up.

Finally got the tool to take off the rear drums, haha. So now it’s got all new brakes front and rear, with a disc brake setup up front and new shoes and cylinders out back. IMG_7336.jpegIMG_7337.jpegIMG_7339.jpegIMG_6001.jpegIMG_5314.jpeg

Took the bus out for a good run to bed the brakes in over the Kings birthday weekend. 100km’s and everything went great, stops like a dream now. To make it even better I’m thinking of fitting a booster as well. It’s slowly getting there, not much more to go.
