Hi Guys,

As a bit of a new-comer I would like to know my options for lowering without the cheap non-adjustable front beam cut and weld route!?

i would like my set-up to be fully adjstable for everday driving and then the need to look good and low when I fancy!

I do not want to 'tub' my arches so this will have to be the guiding factor when looking at my options. :?

Many Thanks, Steve.

Too bad he needs the cores up front, I have several sets of early and late cores, it would save each of you another $75 each set (I charge $75 per pair)!

Spot on keep me posted reckon I'd be in for some of the spindles. Keep me posted on numbers / prices as i get the bus back, garage sorted and shed erected out back....

Mikee

I think i'm going to have to hold off for now, i'll look at the possibility again in the new year.

Cheers
Gareth

Then you need to have adjusters welded to the beam, and at the rear you can get adjustable spring plates too. You are probably going to be better off sticking to around a 4 inch drop going this way (6 inch is about the max you can go with balljoints). Also its dependant on the wheel tyre combo you use, poor offset and larger tyres could cause rubbing of the arches when you have weight in the van. You can also get the beam narrowed which can help with clearance and look good too :D

Gareth

I cannot for the life of me visualise how those horseshoe plates attach to rear spring plates. Anyone got a pic (or link to one) of them in situ please?

Just thought i'd add a little note to say I have had two lots of Nates dropped spindles over the years and they are great quality and had no issues fitting them.
I also didn't get charged import duties either time, but maybe that was look of the draw!! :D

I am looking at buying a pair of horseshoes and spindles.

I'll let you know soon :)

If we can get the price down any further, either by using Woodslats core spindles or by shipping them in a bus (or both) then that would really be appreciated, I'm only a poor student and bus lowering doesn't come high on the priority list!

I'm not quite sure why we couldn't use Woodslats spindles if they can be posted to Nate?

Jim

We could use Eric's (woodslats) spindles but it depends how much they cost to ship over to Nate as there may only be a small saving?, Eric are you reading this and if so whats the shipping of spindles likely to cost from yourself to Nate?

:) Thanks Gareth,

I am interested in going down this route if you guys can sort out a good price the the kit :!:
I am also interseted in a narrowed front beem (only by a couple of inches as I am not wishing to compromise on too much drivability!) anyone know where these can be purchased :?:
I am going to use original 14'' narrow five wheels with stock tyres and bling them up with whitewall bands and beauty rings.

Cheers, Steve.

Have you considered a T2D spindle group buy? Non welded, 3.5" dropped spindles, no track increase.

Looks good although I can't see a price listed, will drop them a line and see what they say,

Not looking good lowered light posted this on the 'red9kit' thread in the technical section

I enquired with T2D about their new 3.5" dropped spindles and they're £450 a pair plus they said you need heavy duty ball joints due to the design, drop etc.. at £50 each so that works out at £650 for the complete set up. Spindles are on an exchange basis.

Dave

We are talking a massive 3.5" drop though which not possible with the usual methods and NO track increase.

Worth asking about a group or club or whatever discount!

I posted a set of spindles to Nate from california by fedex and it cost $70.

daz

Any more info on this?

Still undecided between this and red9 and think they both work out about the same price.
$370 + £77(delivery) = $444 Converted to pounds is £301 then add VAT @ 15% comes to £346'ish
Red9 £345 + £20 delivery so £365

The only issue is customs but think for the price if most paople are going dropped spindles then i might join in! Heard a lot of good things about Nate's work.
To be honest once its lowered i dont think i'll be messing about to much so a permanent drop might be the better option for me

OK

This thread seemed to have stalled a bit as people suggest alternatives to Nates dropped spindles, happy to kick start this again but need to know who is definitely interested or not. If you are still interested in a set then we need to gauge the amount required so please add your name to the list with year of bay (wide 5 68 -70 or disc 71-72) and whether its dropped spindles & or horseshoe plates you are looking for.

Graham L - 71 - dropped spindles - Horseshoe plates
