My OG horn stopped working. I am getting 12 volts across the terminals so it’s Kaput.
I have bought a new Hella one from JK. My question is that the old one looks as though it’s inside a case, do I need to remove this case and put the new one in it ?

As above.

That said, the old type are often rebuildable. Just unscrew the face, clean up the contacts and you might be able to persuade it to live once more :)

Thanks guys.

I let the screws holding the face on soak overnight in wd 40 and took it apart today. I thought I would have to cut them off by the look of them, but I think underseal has protected them from becoming too rusty.
It looked clean inside but dirty around the rim.

Wiped it all clean and tested it with a spare battery and would you believe it - it works again!

It sounds a bit of a lower note compared to the new Hella one. Probably because it is a slightly bigger diameter.
Bit of a dilemma now- do I put the old one back on or just fit the new one 🤨🤨[emoji38][emoji38]

Old one - as above, keep the new one for if it ever does give up the ghost for good.

Great stuff :D

From memory, you can adjust the note on some of them. But I might be mistaken.
