oil pump

taken engine out because of it running hot and wanted repair / fit tinware. i am thinking of changing oil cooler whilst i can get at it. i am also thinking is there a need to change oil pump as well just to ensure enough oil is circulating??!!

Whenever I have an engine out or repairing an engine I ALLWAYS change oil pump. Its false economy not to change when you have engine out and they are not expensive.

cheers sparky, will i need a tool to take it out as when i have been searching there is a fuel pump puller?!?

You will be able to puller from the likes of VW Heritage, Machine 7 etc.I think that the other member is right about pump but check your engine number against parts suppliers.
