That should be the same info your MOT man was looking at (DVLA records) Some early 68 model year vans where built in '67 (my brothers was August '67 iirc) - not sure about pre-registrations back in the late 60's though!

Depends on what is put on the application form when registering, some have had 1/1/67 put on the form, hence some bays with an 'E' suffix.
