I have an external oil filter/cooler set up on my bay. During the winters work i have stripped this back, amongst many other things, and tossed the worn out pipe work without recording which pipe went where.

I have in/out markings on the filter housing butnothing anywhere else.

Am i right in thinking that the following is correct?

OUT from the engine is IN on the filter.
Then OUT on the filter goes onto the cooler
Then from the cooler to IN on the engine.

Or am i getting this all wrong?

might help

Mines a slightly different set up to that one above. My engine has a standard oil pump. The pipework comes off a Scat fitting on the top of the engine block(where the standard oil cooler would sit) it was then piped directly to the filter and cooler, without a thermostat.

Thats the right way as you want to filter your oil when it's really hot and then cool it.

Thanks. now all i need to do is fill it with oil and crank the engine untill i get squirted with oil to see which is out on the engine :D
