after a quality chrome front badge for a 69 and also some 356 style wheels with quality hub caps (fancy over sized logo) any suggestions and any idea how much it should be in £££ all sites seem to vary massively and theres no real reference to quality :)

Can't comment on the wheels but as far as the badge goes, be careful there. I just bought one (wasn't cheap!) from a supposedly reputable vendor (to remain nameless) and what a piece of junk! Looks like a chrome plated turd! No way it's going on my bus. Now I'm busy hunting for a proper one so will be watching your post for some expert responses.

most definateley name and shame, the whole purpose of a forum is to share knowledge and experience (both positive and negative) so fellow enthusiasts don't get ripped off the same.

well thats drwan a blank in responses  no suggestions and a warning about an un named trader

karmann konnection, type 2 detectives or someone like that sell stainless badges if you're worried about lasting. I have one from C&C and it's not bad but I'm not sure as after 1 year there is a v small rust spot, not on the front but towards the back top edge! So early to tell. Can't help with wheels either.

I have one that is a 3to4 years old now and it is Heavy duty metal and still looking good...... Have an original painted one on my van now but willing to post pic of it if someone wants to buy it. Think it was from Emporium.

I have always had the back coated in grease to stop any rust while on the bus? My top tip :D

cheers

Simon

Peoples experiences are very subjective. What might seem like one persons truth might be someone else's lies.

There will be no naming and shaming, we've been down that road before and it doesnt work for lots of reasons. Earlybay are not in the business of trying to put businesses out of business. If you want to find out please request it by PM.

The best method is to point people in the direction of businesses that are worthy and you have had positive experiences from.

I bought mine from Skitts on here. He's also on VZI, he re-chromes batches of originals i believe, mine was reasonable price and top quality. I have also heard good things about the the emblems from the above are good too.

Thanks Johnny, yeah that is kinda how I feel. These guys are a big out fit here in the UK and most of their stuff is fine, I wouldn't want to make waves just over a badge...what I was really getting at is try and get a proper chrome one rather than a knock off because the quality isn't great. Sorry no hard feelings all. :)
