I had to get a rectangular modern rear number plate and for some reason they didn't line up with the holes made for the square number plate so I now have 4 holes in my newly painted engine lid....grrrr. Want to get a black/ silver square one so I guess am going to have to get it filled unless the square one fits over? Whaddya think?

give up the idea of a square plate and get a rectangular plate that uses two of the four holes.

I have a spare square plate :( which i had planned to fit on the back of out early bay.

gutted for you mate. i know when my van gets out of the spray shop i will spot something i overlooked within minutes of getting it back  run the rectangle one mate. it will still look cool :D

to fit a square plate do I need the number plate mounting brackets or can it just screw on like it's been done? It looks like the 'proper' holes are punched through whereas the other holes have been attacked by a drill.

I need to take the van back to the spray shop at some point so will see if they'll patch it up nicely I guess?
