Got a new seal from VW heritage and I'm not sure how to fit it.
Do I need to take the door off, or do I cut the seal and try to get it pushed in as best I can?

The door should takern off to the seal as if you cut the seal it let water in and shrink which will cause more water in.

I remove the lower bracket and then rest the slider on an axle stand while I change the rubber, it saves taking the door off entirely.

I cut the rubber in the bottom right corner cause im a lazy ass (on my old van) didnt seem to make a difference

Well, I tried to take the door off, but decided it wasn't worth the effort...screws seized etc, so I just cut the seal half way down the side towards the front. Took off the door lining and cleaned up the latching mechanism and put some dynamat sound proofing in while I was at it.
