Quick question, i've searched old posts and seen mention of varous jacks to use but not really anything about these scissor jacks:

http://www.justkampers.com/shop/type_2_bay/type-2-bay-original-vehicle-parts/tools/safety-breakdown/jack-j10115-2370110311.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

are they any good? or do people prefer something else, and if so .... why?

need to get one by next week. all comments appreciated.

I was thinking of getting one these also, as have no room
for my trolley jack in van.
I have been driving around with no jack in van,
not a good idea.
Cheers Paul.

Go to a breakers and you'll find scissor jacks in car boots for about a fiver ;)

The alternative in a bottle jack :)

these things are also known as "widow makers",

a bottle jack or small trolley jack is the only way.

They've come up a bit short on the description, they needed to finish the bit where it says "the only jack that fits into the original jacking point" with "and fucks them right up because they sure as shit aren't as sturdy as they were in the 60s"

cheers. i'm sure my jacking points are all fine so that isn't an issue for me.

not sure i fancy carrying a trolley jack around. what bottle jacks do people have? and are they easy to use safely?
