Im due to go away in the bus in a weeks time and the bus is sitting on a ramp with a buggered servo. I cant mot it till its sorted
My bro in law has kindly said I can take the one off his 75 project bus and sort him one ata later date, my question is will it fit straight on my crossover?

If so I will take it up there in the morning, if not then its camping in a Volvo :x

its the same part number so im guessing yes, i would take yours off and compare it though.

In any case I fitted a late servo to my '71 which has the smaller early servo, so either way it can be done - see my thread. Is it worth putting in used? Its not too difficult a job, but surely only worth doing the once? I put in a new MC too as this leaks into the servo and makes it go bad.

Thanks guys, I would be better off with a new one but the garage arent 100% sure its the servo and have asked if I could get another. We are supposed to be away in the van next friday so I dont really have the time to order a new one.
If the used one I have works ok then I can use it for now then replace it with a new one at a later date.

At first it was the brakes binding on after a while. After I stopped for a while they would release. I noticed the pedal got harder just before the brakes started binding.
I took it for an mot and asked them to check the brakes, they said the handbrake wasnt working on one side and that the servo wasnt doing anything, they checked the hoses and they all look ok and told me it could be the servo itself and if I could get one.
Thats as far as its got.

Well, fitted the late bay servo and oh my god I have brakes

How did I survive all that time without them :? They were always rock hard but I just put it down to the age of the bus and got used to pushing hard. The van stops great and the pedal feels like a modern cars.

It just needed the inlet pipe swapping and a small bit of grinding on the chassis to accomodate the bracket.
