So the interior is now sold!
Sorry to the people who have shown interest and have missed out.
Someone offered me more than I was asking and he was local so couldn't turn it down!
That's coming out this afternoon!
Will b a shame because it is lovely but at least we will have cash in our hand to start kitting her out as to how we need it.

What a day , very busy!
Wasn't a very good start! I was in the bad books!
I had to much wine and gin last night, apparently I was snoring all night and kept mrs Shiplee awake so she weren't happy, ( I don't believe it cos I didn't hear a thing tbh !)
As u know she's preggas and finding it hard so I looked after the boys whilst she got 40 winks after breakfast!
She came down around 11am ( by this point the boys were driving me bonkers lol )
I soon went out and started dismantling my bus interior as it's now sold!

I forgot to mention the chap I purchased it from didn't like the ply headliner so fitted a new vinyal headliner. I've just removed it
Gonna put a ply one back in!
It's missing the metal channels , anyone know where I can get replacements?

Dazza , I gotta get on when I get any spare time!
Prob is I run my own business , got a wife n two ( nearly 3 ) boys to look after, and trying to find a spare hour or two is hard!
When I'm aloud time to myself I don't hang around !

Yes thanks chap I noticed that on a post on here before!
If I can't find the original part I'll prob use that too!

Have a look here,

I think the J chaneel is the same as some plasterboard fixings or suchlike, and I think Grazy on here does the I sections for the middle bits..

Yep - whs ^^^^^
Saw some pics of these being used on here somewhere and they looked good, cheep too!
As for the glue its a bloody nightmare, doing under my seats , its old and hard but tried white spirit, thinners, petrol, scrapers, sanding, dremel etc and its still putting up a fight :msn4:
If yours is fairly recent then try a heat gun ;)

I was worried about mrs shippas looking inside the bus once I'd removed the interior, she loved the interior and didn't wonna take it out , but it had to b done to fit us all in !

So this afternoon the interior was removed and once he left ( jay nice chap ! ) then my mechanic friend came round.

His name is Carl works at a local garage but is a vw camper pro! , lovely bloke too!

He's given my bus the once over, gulp, always a scary moment !

All in all he says I've purchased a really decent westy!
Rot free , all seems good!
Lots of little things to sort
I think I mentioned the bloke I purchased it from lost interest so didn't finish things off.
There's lots of nuts n bolts to tighten, the starter was loose , it's got new fuel pipe but the filter was sitting on top of the starter

I was told the steering box was knacked but it seems not! , I'd purchased one too :x
Needs I think he said steering idler pin repair kit ???
There's bits n bobs missing and not fully tightened all over but nothing to bad
One shock missing lol , but I was supplied two new shocks to fit !
Needs a couple of bulbs
New washer bottle
Some parts on the anti roll bar

Lots more too much to mention

He recons 6 weeks of sat mornings ( not every sat ) just when he's available to get it sorted for mot

Thanks simo I guess that's what I'll have to do!
I think I could get my sander on it but I'll then have to get the interior resprayed !
If that's what I need to do that's fine , I did this in my panel van and I must admit it's nice to have crisp clean paint inside if it's in an area you see all the time

Just on the off chance!
Can anyone supply me a pic of the j channel before the ply headliner is fitted?

There's a local metal work company who I recon may b able to remake it for me if I can't find any!

Thanks

Wickes do an edging strip for splash backs/shower boards. Much narrower channel than plasterboard.
