Once in the j Chanel's it's just a case of pushing on the headliner and it pops into place.
It's a bit of a worrying moment as I had visions of the wood snapping
It popped in just fine
I did have to shave a slither of each side as it was just a little bit to big

It's coming together

I have gotta order the trim to go round the pop top hole!
I've also ordered the 4 strips that fit between the headliner sections
For reference , strongy on here sells the strips if anyone is missing them and needing spares

Annoyingly the headliner may have to b removed again because I still won't to get the inside resprayed.

I'm waiting for the previous owner to send me a tin of 2k paint which he forgot to give me.

Picking up r n r bed , and cushions and door cards from trimmers prob Sunday afternoon.

i can send you a nice template to make the hinge covet if you like, its not bent like the original you cut it and form a nice 90 will post pics if you like.

Thanks chap
I haven't completly decided what I'm gonna do at the back yet ?
Some pics would b great !
Thanks for the offer of templates , I may end up taking u up on the offer! If u do I'm happy to pay u !

Talking of templates does anyone think I should make templates of my ply headliner for future reference ?
It may cost me to buy the ply and take time to cut the templates but at least one of us will have a copy of a westy headliner .

I recon if someone could have supplied me a paper template I would have been happy to pay a small fee for time n postage. Would have saved me £180.00

Yes defo take templates, I made my own headliner as I couldn't afford a pre made and I like doing stuff like that.
My templates (old liner) were seriously squirrel chewed so I had to hues some of it.

Hi Sam

I really had to think about spending the £185
Seemed such a lot of money for what it was!
I was only paying for the shape of the wood!
I can buy ply boards any thickness 5 miles down the road.
Mind u these do look nice.
Would have been so nice if someone on here could have made me a paper template and send it.
I also struggled to find the other bits I needed to complete the job. I think I've sorted it now.
Maybe I could sort a template pack so people could save some cash?

I think if you could then there would be a nice little earner for you.

I look for templates when i did mine. Would be a good idea :!: made out of hardboard would be an issue due to post but made from paper would be ideal. You can get rolls of plotter paper which you could stick together as these are 1m wide. These can then be posted cheaply!

I just measured, guessed and went for making mine. Really happy with the results but a real pain in the arse

Ok spent a bit of time today in the engine bay
Needed gaskets on the exhaust pipes , starter motor needed some time spent on it, pipes tidying .
When I replaced the fuel pipe in a hurry the other day , like a plonker I put the pipe on the fuel pump the wrong way round so once we realised why it wouldn't run properly we switched them round.
Basically nut and bolts needed tightening all round as the previous owner lost interest and gave up half way through the project.
Compression very good and engine sound good but not running 100% so gonna buy new plugs n points next week

The pipe in the pic below ( the rusty pipe lol ) has a small hole in it. Prob 2 or 3 mm dia
Bit of a bummer!
Guess gonna have to drop the engine out and spot weld it up , unless anyone has any better idears?

Moving house this week so will get that template a pics to you in the next couple of weeks pm your address there only paper ones so I'll post foc

Thanks chap I'll send u my details.
I hope your house move goes well
You've got a busy couple of weeks coming up so just send templates when u have time
(don't stress )
Thank you James

Drove over to norwich this morning to collect my r n r bed cushions n covers and some door cards .
Very happy with them!
He's a top bloke (Ian at classic core) can't big him up enough! Highly recommended!

I'm also itching to get the engine bay resprayed cos it's messy
One step at a time I guess!

At this rate it will be done in no time

Mate there is still loads to do!
It may look like I'm half way there but I'm not. Loads of big and little jobs to sort.
I'm gonna b held up on the paint I think?
I won't to freshen up the inside paintwork, the chap who sold me the bus had some paint left over and was gonna send me some but still hasn't .
If I don't receive it soon I'll have to try get some myself.
I think it's l87 pearl white
Anyone know the best place to buy some of this in 2k
