Wouldnt it get wet in the LB side? Its the cutting of the holes(s) thats putting me off fitting one right now

not at all, your heater will screw flush to the floor and cut a gasket from something heat proof if your worried although i think the exhaust is double insulated anyway for heat.

i'll scan and upload the 1600 manual gimme a minute

I was meaning water coming down thru the air intakes................

Thanks for the scan! Thats why this forum is sooooo good :!:

hes made one mistake with the exhaust pipe its in an area of turbulent air even facing backward he could still get fumes perhaps?

another position is in the engine bay near the spare wheel well if you have space, the old factory fit webastos/eberspachers went there.

Don't know why he didn't fit it under the middle seat at least?? Nice to have heat on the screen though

the engine bay is a good bet as if your easily annoyed by noise and cant sleep unless your in silence, the constant 'tick' ot the ignition (and fuel pump if your installing a petrol/diesel heater) will get on your tits in the middle of the night. Sticking it in the engine bay will give some sound deadening.

Finally got round to buying a 2nd hand Hotbox which is a branded propex X1 according to technical @ propex...........

So good time as any to revive this thread.

I need the 63mm duct from the heater to the vent and possibly a new stat, although im sure I can wire in the one i have although it differs to the one in the instructions, other than that just the copper pipe for the gas.

The Hotbox has its exhaust on the side rather than the back like the more common Compact but should fit under the seat easily enough.

Anyone fitted one recently, be good to see your installs

Thanks fella

Have you got a stat with yours? you seam to have a switch that mine dont have.

Just

just a switch, it will stay on for 1 hr and then turn off, but never had the need to run for an hr as the van warms up quickly when we have used it

Is the timer built into the panel (where the LEDs are) then? Gonna wire mine up with the zig ect so will need a good day to complete.

Just

assume the timer is either in the switch or where you say, I'm told that they do need to be on a timer though as they have no stat and could over heat. You could try and fit a later stat though, but to be honest if you just using it for camping you'll find that 10mins is long enough to heat the van up.

has any one connected one of these to the original heater tubes, so that it could heat the front screen ;)

How did it work? Good? Was it like having a cabin fan where you can blow hot hair onto the front window or do they not have a blower in them?
