Got a throttle linkage to go on aswell so hopefully that may make a difference. Will check the carb at the weekend too then.
Would there be a better carb I could fit
I you are stock, use a stock carb. Volkswagen has done a lot of research on this, if there was a better carb for your engine they would have fitted one. ;) (with the stock setup obviously).

I would reccommend stock dizzy, clean and set the carb. Check timing, check ingintion, check sparks etc etc. There must be something off, or everything is off by a little bit and it just works out bad.

Yeah I'll go through everything like that ASAP . She's only been on road for a couple of weeks so finding out all the issues . How much would a stock dizzy be?? It's currently running a 009

Search the webs... I'd opt for an good original one seccond hand rather then a cheap repro one.

You could go electronic too.
